Fall Fashion Checklist

Although its still summer, I thought I'd put together some of my must have fall pieces. Fall is my favorite season for fashion and I couldn't help but get excited when fall collections started appearing in stores. I actually own most of these items, and the ones I don't, I plan on adding to my wardrobe this season. I highly recommend checking out discount stores like TJ Maxx and Marshalls when shoe shopping. There are some great high end brands of shoes for great prices. When It comes to the clothing aspect of fall fashion, there are definitely much cheaper alternatives than what I included here. I just wanted to put together a checklist of fall essentials. This post is more lengthy than usual, but I hope you enjoy!

- What is fall without a few nice sweaters? They are perfect for layering and an easy go-to for a casual fall look.
- A nice gingham shirt is a definite staple in my fall wardrobe. The subtle pattern is classic and versatile.
- Chambray is so easy to dress up and down. It also serves as a great layering piece and looks nice on its own.
- Denim is something that never goes out of style. For the fall months you can't go wrong adding a nice denim jacket to your everyday wardrobe. Its an easy on the go piece and great for those crisp fall days.
- This puffer vest from J.Crew is at the top of my fall fashion checklist. The possible ways to wear this is endless and how perfect would this look over a nice button up, a pair of skinny jeans and riding boots?
- Whether its a military vest or jacket, army green is one of my favorite colors to wear in the fall months.
- Scarves are my must have autumn accessory! Not only are they fashionable, they keep you warm and look great paired over more plain pieces.
- This leather cross body bag from Daily Look can be paired with just about any casual outfit in the fall. I'm also loving fringe bags for fall as well!
- Just because summer is coming to an end, doesn't mean you need to store away your hats. This style is classic and an easy cover up for a bad hair day.
- Chunky statement necklaces are desirable any time of year, but the gold and bronze tones of this J.Crew necklace are undeniably made for the fall.
- I don't wear glasses or contacts, but how cute are these glasses from Urban Outfitters? They're not prescription so anyone can wear them! They are such a cute accessory for those days when you don't want to wear eye makeup.
- I've been eyeing this watch for a while... I can't get enough of it's quirky vintage style.
- A destroyed pair of boyfriend jeans are a great summer-to-fall transition piece and an easy DIY project if you don't want to break the bank.
- Black skinny jeans are a must for fall! In my opinion, the darker the pants the more put together an outfit looks. I've also been eyeing these pixi pants for fall, but can't decide if I want to splurge or not!
- How would you wear any type of boot without a nice pair of dark wash skinnies? A nice pair of denim pants are made for this season.
- Maroon is one of my favorite autumn colors and this skirt will look so nice paired with some black tights and a cute pair of ankle booties for a feminine look.
- I can't get enough of awesome patterns! This pencil skirt from Loft is a perfect classic piece to add to your fall wardrobe.
- This skirt is a bit out of the box for me, but I love trying new styles and experimenting with different pieces. Its definitely a risk worth taking. After all, how will you know whether you like it or not if you don't try it?
- A pair of opaque black tights make it easy to transition your summer skirts and dresses into the cool weather months.
- I love a nice pair of knee highs to wear under my boots, it adds a perfect amount of detail and keeps your feet warm.
- TJ Maxx and Marshalls have the best selection of boots for the best price. I bought a pair of riding boots last year, and wore them about every other day.
- If you remember, I had these shoes on my spring wish list and I finally bought them for this fall. Cheetah print is one of my most favorite prints, and especially on these slip on sneakers.
- I sort of have an obsession with ankle booties. The slight heel in these add a little height (which I don't mind) and are so versatile.
- The preppy style of oxfords are perfect for back-to-school and are so easy to pair with just about anything.

Whether you're going back to school shopping or you're just in need of new clothes for fall, I hope you found some inspiration in this checklist.
Thank you so much for reading!
xx Mariah
